Subject IFB003 to IFB004 Interface Box Modification Procedure
Introduction
The Interface Box IFB004 was developed to provide enhanced features for Service Repair and Calibration. It is possible to modify an IFB003 Interface Box to allow it to provide the same functions.The modifications will provide the following functions;
- A switched EXTL PWR supply to the phone via the Interface cable.
- The option of 8.2V to be selected using the 3-position Voltage Switch.
NOTE: FOR INTERFACE BOXES WITH PROTECH PCB’s ONLY:
A diode change is required to stabilise the operation of the RS232 IC.Procedure
The procedure is as follows:
- Remove R10.
- Remove R6.
- In position R10, fit two 383R series resistors.
- On the underside (solder side) of PCB, cut track to J2, pin 9.
- Link SW2 pin 3 to R10 (isolated pin from the track cut).
- Link J2 pin 9 to J2 pin 4.
- Change R4 from 1K1 to 715R.
- Change R9 from 43R to 619R.
- Change R3 from 820R to 680R.
- Change R8 from 15R to 464R.
- FOR PROTECH PCB’s ONLY, change the value of D1 to 5V1.
